Faceted glass
Faceted glass also known as Slab glass or Dalle de Verre is a technique that was developed in Europe for use is early Christian churches. Originally colored chunks of glass were set into stone or clay. The panel medium was updated in the twentieth century with the use of concrete. Eventually in the 1950's epoxy resin was used because of its bonding capabilities and thermal expansion characteristics.
Faceted glass is constructed of 1" thick chunk stained glass, cut to shape and then cast in an epoxy resin. The result is a very heavy and durable window panel.
Faceted glass is chipped on the edges to cause thin flakes of glass to break off the flat surfaces. Pieces of this type of glass are set into an epoxy-concrete mixture to produce large architectural window-walls. The fractured edges ("facets") cause the light to bend and refract (break into a rainbow of colors).

Stained glass
Architectural glass can enrich the character of any building. Its translucent and transparent qualities make it a useful and elegant element for dividing different spaces.
